Het neusje van de zalm uit het Alpina assortiment in de jaren 90: Alpina B12 5.7 Coupe, en dan wel dé pers auto waarmee Alpina in 1993 het model aan het publiek liet zien. Dit betreft #002 van de slechts 57 exemplaren ooit geproduceerd!

Alpina gaf toe dat BMW Motorsport fantastisch werk had geleverd met de 850CSi, waar de B12 5.7 op is gebaseerd. Ze modificeerde de 5.6 V12 naar een 5.7, Alpina vergrootte de cilinderinhoud tot 5,7 liter en wijzigde de inlaat, krukas en nokkenassen. Uniek voor de B12 5.7 is de carbon motorkap met luchtinlaten. Een nieuw uitlaatsysteem met Alpina’s eigen roestvrijstalen katalysatoren en een hergeprogrammeerd Motronic-motormanagementsysteem werden toegepast. Deze aanpassingen resulteerden in 416pk en 570Nm koppel. Goed voor een acceleratie van 0 naar 100 in slechts 5,8 seconden en en topsnelheid van meer dan 300 km/u.  

Optioneel was de B12 5.7 leverbaar met het Shift-Tronic systeem. Dit elektronische koppelingmanagementsysteem werd door Alpina ontwikkeld in samenwerking met LUK GS en is de enige Alpina die ooit met dit systeem werd geleverd. Alpina had het idee om het systeem aan Ferrari te verkopen, echter kozen zij later voor de F1 transmissie. Als reactie koos Alpina ervoor dit exemplaar in Ferrari rood te leveren.  

Dit exemplaar is van top tot teen onder handen genomen en zowel technisch als optisch in perfecte staat. Compleet met een zeer uitgebreide documentatiemap, digitale onderhoudshistorie en afgestempeld onderhoudsboekje. Uniek exemplaar voor liefhebber en verzamelaar, we laten ‘m graag in volle glorie aan u zien in onze showroom te Boxtel!

 

The crème de la crème from the Alpina lineup in the 1990s: Alpina B12 5.7 Coupe, and in this case the actual press car with which Alpina presented the model to the public in 1993. This is #002 of only 57 examples ever produced!

Alpina admitted that BMW Motorsport did a fantastic job with the 850CSi, on which the B12 5.7 is based. They modified the 5.6 V12 into a 5.7, increasing the displacement to 5.7 liters and changing the intake, crankshaft, and camshafts. Unique to the B12 5.7 is the carbon bonnet with air intakes. A new exhaust system with Alpina’s own stainless steel catalytic converters and a reprogrammed Motronic engine management system were installed. These modifications resulted in 416 hp and 570 Nm of torque. Good for acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 5.8 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h.

Optionally, the B12 5.7 was available with the Shift-Tronic system. This electronic clutch management system was developed by Alpina in cooperation with LUK GS and is the only Alpina ever delivered with this system. Alpina initially planned to sell the system to Ferrari, but they later opted for the F1 transmission. In response, Alpina decided to deliver this particular example in Ferrari red.

This example has been completely restored from top to bottom and is in perfect technical and cosmetic condition. Complete with a very extensive documentation file, digital service history, and stamped service book. A unique example for enthusiast and collector alike — we are happy to present it to you in all its glory in our showroom in Boxtel!
